Meet the Adventurer:

My Story

Hello there. I’m Sandra Willis founder of Motorhome Routes Ireland. Some call me a motorhome travel expert I call myself chief explorer! I have a vision to make your trips less stressful whilst showcasing all the wonderful places around Ireland.

My background

I previously ran a large events company (Spice Yorkshire) running over 80 events a month. So planning is kind of in my DNA. As well as running local events where I was based in Yorkshire I travelled all over the world. I love spending hours poring over maps & researching online. Not just for information readily available but also for the hidden gems you might not think of visiting.

Life Now

Although originally from the UK I now live in Ireland. I have travelled both Ireland & Northern Ireland extensively in my campervan so have a great knowledge of the 2 countries. As I spend most of my time in Ireland in my campervan I’m ideally situated to know the best routes & parkups. This makes me an ideal motorhome travel expert around Ireland

My Travels

As well as Ireland I have also travelled the UK, Belgium, France, Spain & Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic & Austria & plan many more adventures overseas in the campervan.

The Crew

I travel around with my two co-pilots Cosmo & Daquiri two golden retrievers who love their wandering lives.

The Vehicle

We travel in Toddy, a 1999 Peugeot Boxer autosleeper campervan. Toddy is the love of my life whilst out on the roads & the bane of my life when it’s in the garage!! When we’re not in Toddy we’re travelling the Irish waterways in a 57ft narrowboat called Golden Boyz.

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous 2 week touring holiday to Ireland in our Motor Home last year, which was largely due to Sandra, who drew up a detailed daily schedule for us.. Not only did she plan an itinerary that included a wonderful road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way and visits to top tourist attractions such as the cliffs of Mohair, but she also recommended, tried and tested wild camping spots for each night that would suit us and our 3 dogs.

Sandra gave us great advice and options for what was our first time travelling in a camper van. Her tips and info were very helpful as we were totally clueless. I simply gave her some suggestions of where we wanted to go and she created a very detailed and easy to follow route.
